Bill,

Which Cass County Smith family is yours? My family is also SMITH -- William
Smith and Amanda (Simpson) Smith are the first ancestors in Cass County --
having come from Ohio. My other families are HUFFMAN, MADER (also spelled MOEDER
with an umlaut over the e), GEHRING, CAMPBELL and McDOWELL. My grandmother
Freda Smith (nee Mader) had a half-brother whose mother was a BANTA and my
grandfather Paul Smith had half siblings whose mother was a NEFF.
