I know I've run into this answer before, but when was Clinton Co officially made a county? What county was what became Ross Twp in before it became part of Clinton CO? I'm trying to figure out the birth of my g-grandfather, Nathaniel B. Johns(t)on, b: 12/25/1829. I have his father Daniel in Clinton CO in 1830 in Ross Twp., where might additional records be found? I sense I'm near on figuring this out but am stuck because my dates are so close to when Clinton Co was originally chartered.

Any tips most welcome.
