Evelyn and the good people of Crawford County and
<>
I wish again, to thank all of you that have contacted me with
information, help and direction.
I leave the Seattle tomorrow to South Bend, and the 18th on to
Corydon.
On the 19th a bunch of us will be at the Peckinpaugh Cemetery at
Cape Sandy and again on the 20th. We expect to complete the work
by then and place an GAR marker and flag for the Civil War
Veteran. With the advice/help of Lois Mauk (Clark County Cemetery
Preservation Committee) on Saturday, on the correct method to
clean grave stones.
There are suppose to be temp. markers to the cemetery and (maps
at the Days' Inn), at Carefree.
Spring clean-up groups in other states, are rolling up their
sleeves; cemeteries are getting face-lifts instead of vandalizing;
a groups of school kids are getting into the action in Clark Co.
There is something about this that makes one feel good. Hope to
see some of you this week.
Dave Pickenpaugh - Marblemount, WA
PS it is Samuel Walker, sorry, left off the name.

The Sheckells Cem. is on Little Blue River. At Cape Sandy the
road to
Archibald Falls is on the right going South. It is a gravel road
and there
is a sign that says Archibald Falls. Don't think there is a
Samuels unless a
maiden name. There are Samuels buried at Fredonia. I have
Samuels that were
married into my Morgan family.
There are two Peckinbaughs buried in a cemetery at Mulzers Quarry
at Cape
Sandy.
Hope this helps a little. Evelyn
