Alvah C. Franklin, born ca 1832, Chatauqua, New York, md Margaret ---. He served in the Civil War as Musician in Co. H, 49th Regt. Ind. Inf. Vol. He died 10 Dec 1862 or 16 May 1864(2 different records?) at New Orleans of wounds accidentally received in Red River campaign; burial place not reported.
Margaret Franklin applied for widow's pension 16 Apr 1864; minor child applied for pension 16 Apr 1869, M. Brooks, Gdn.
Margaret Franklin married Levi G. Brooks, 20 Dec 1867 in Crawford Co. (Bk C, p 364).
I don't know where his parents, David B. and Hannah Franklin died and are buried. Some of the Franklin family are buried at Fredonia Cemetery, Crawford Co. No markers are there for David and Hannah. They might have moved back to Ohio.
David B. Franklin (Jr.), b. ca 1829/30 New York, md second wife Alma --- before 1870 census. They were still living at Alton where he was listed as a river trader. They moved back to Ohio before 1880 census of Sheffield, Ashtabula Co., Ohio.
