Hi, List-

I am researching the White, O'Brien, and Dant families in Daviess County
(1819-1900). I am very interested in finding the descendants of Charles Dant
and Harriet Edwards Dant (married May 4, 1858 in Daviess County). Charles
(born 1834 in Daviess County) was the oldest child of James Dant and Matilda
Kidwell Dant. I don't know who Harriet's parents were, but I believe that she
was raised by Zachariah Walker and Louisa Kelty Walker. Charles died before
1880. Harriet is listed in the 1880 census as being widowed with these
children:

1. Edward Preston (born 1859)

2. Olivia Matilda (born 1862)

3. Mary Dant (born 1864)

4. John Dant (born 1866)

5. James Dant (born 1868)

6. Margaret Dant (born 1869)

7. Zachariah Dant (born 1872)

8. Henry Dant (born 1873)

9. Louisa Dant (born 1875)

I believe there was another child, Henry who was born about 1860/61 and died
before 1880. In the 1870 census, he was listed as being 9 years-old. He did
not appear in the 1880 census.

I do not know what happened to Harriet Edwards Dant or her children. Olivia
M. Dant, the oldest daughter, was my great-grandmother. She married Barney
White (son of Andrew J. White and Susan (Lavina) O'Brien Summers White) on
June 26, 1882.

Any information on the above family would be very much appreciated.
