Dear Friends,
Help! I have searched for 25 years for the obituary or death
certificate of my gggrandfather William Thomas Smith born about 1817 in
Coshocton Co., OH and died after 1880, was buried in the Old Catholic
Cemetery in Washington, IN. The watertower now stands where the Old
Catholic Cemetery used to be. I have looked at the cemetery records but
he is not listed because the County Clerk recorded only the standing
tombstones not the flatones at the time the cemetery was moved because
there was too much snow on the ground. I have located William with his
wife Ann in the 1880 Census Daviess Co. Washington Twp. Page 12 District
144. William was a teamster and fell off of the beer wagon he was
driving and was run over by it. His obituary or a story about the
accident may perhaps be in the Washington Democrat newspaper. I just
don't know which year or day in which to look and I don't know where to
get a film of it. If you could point me toward a resource I'd really
appreciate it. To look at all the information I have you can use my
family account of 1000 and password of thecarmans to look at the family
history which I have posted at http://www.mytrees.com click "Login Now"
and enter the account number and password. Then on the Select Pedigree
screen click the arrow that is on the box aboove the Submit Selection
button and select the pedigree named "Cindys Smith Sullivan Gary
Lackey".
Thanks for reading this and your thoughtful help.
Sincerely,
Cindy Carman
