"MRS. O'BRYAN, 77, TAKEN BY DEATH TUESDAY
Well Known Resident of Plainville Paralysis Victim.
Mrs. Rose Ann O'BRYAN, 77, widow of the late Thomas O'BRYAN of Plainville, died yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock after an illness of nine days.
Death of Mrs. O'BRYAN resulted from paralysis. Nine days ago she suffered a stroke and from that time her condition was quite serious. She had been in the best of health prior to the stroke.
Born in Daviess county on August 16, 1852, the daughter of Lemuel and Emily (JONES) BURCH, the deceased had spent practically all her life in the vicinity where she died. For several years she had lived in Plainville and was well known there.
She married Thomas O'BRYAN on April 18, 1871 and to this union several children were born. Five children survive. They are Sarah E. RAGLE of Lase, Ark., Nellie MCCORMICK and John W. O'BRYAN of Plainville, Eugene O'BRYAN of Boone Grove, Ind., and Pearl O'BRYAN at home.
Brothers and sisters are Darius BURCH, Christopher BURCH of Plainville, Wiley BURCH of Oswego, Kan., and Miletus DREW of Cincinnati. Half-brothers and half-sisters are Sarah BARTLEY of Indianapolis, William BURCH of Newberry, Maude NICKLESS of Midland and Dow BURCH of Plainville.
The deceased was a member of the Plainville United Brethren church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Plainville U. B. church with the Rev. S. W. BROWN in charge, assisted by Rev. J. C. FOUTZ. Burial will be made in the Plainville cemetery."
