Hello everyone. I am a Dec. of Rev John thru son Coleman, g-son Enoch, gg-son Elijah, etc. I made be able to answer some questions about SC vs NC. I have Rev John in Union Co, SC in 1800s. I have found this area was in SC til 1760s, then the boundry line was moved and it became Tyron Co, NC till about 1790s. It then was taken back by SC. Coleman is said to have been born in Union County, SC about 1800, just before their move to Indiana. I myself am still not sure who John's parents are. I had just recently heard about the John and Nancy Mathilda DeS as a possiblity. I am trying to check this out also. I also was told about Rev John not being accepted be the DAR by them several years ago. They sent a letter saying that "future descendant had to prove his service record". I wrote the Bedford DAR to see if they knew about this and no one responded to me. I trying to get material together to prove service without using military records, because not everyone had a "pap!
er trail" during the Rev War. If I can prove that, maybe we can get him back in.
