Debby, I was looking over the message board and found your message on Lydia May Wood, Lydia is my grgrandmother, she was married to Frank E. Smith. My grandfather is Charles Wood Smith and Frank and Lydia Smith were his parents. Frank E. Smith parents are Sylvester Smith born 1823 Daviess county, Indiana Married Martha Ann Gootee October 19,1843 Daviess County, Indiana, Sylvester died August 1,1895 Daviess county, Indiana buried Saint Marys' cemetery Barr township Indiana Catholic cemetery right next to Saint Marys' church barr township Daviess county Indiana. Martha Ann Gootee was born 1825 I think Martin county Indiana, Martha died May 12, 1892, and is buried same cemetery as Sylvester Smith. I sent you a copy of births, marriages and deaths from the Bible of Sylvester Smith and Martha Ann Gootee today, hope you got that information. Sylvester Smith parents are James French Smith born abt. 1800 in Kentucky married Martha Mattingly Sept. 22,1822 Daviess county, Indiana and !
died 1849 Daviess county Indiana. Martha Mattingly was born March 10, 1805 Kentucky and died May 10, 1861. They were parishioners at Saint Mary's Catholic Church Barr township Daviess county, Indiana. James French Smith parents were William Smith and Susannah French, you have that information. Hope this helps, I can remenber Lydia and Frank Smith when I was child, my grandparents Charles Wood Smith and Ada Marie McAtee use to take me to Frank and Lydia farm for visits. After Frank Smith died I was there that day, Lydia went to live with my grandmother for awhile and then in a nursing home in Washington Indiana. I can remenber visiting Lydia in the nursing home.
