I'm searching for the parents of Edwin Davis SMITH (2-12-1811 in Dearborn Co., IN - 7-20-1890 Garden Plain, KS). He married Elizabeth R. and they had: James W. in 1839, Benjamin F. in 1840, Oliver H. in 1843, John W. in 1845, Joel S. in 1846, George H. in 1847 and Sarah H. in 1849. Five of his sons served in the Union Army during the Civil War and he was Assistant Adjuant General to the 9th Military District in IN. He also lived in Carrol and Fayette Counties in IN. Can anyone help me?
