Looking for a link. In the McInnis family cemetary in Anacoco, LA is the grave of a Sam Bo Sanks. He lived and worked with the McInnis family for many years yet no one really knew much about him. He said he was born the year the stars fell, maybe around 1833-45 (asteroids fell) and died in Anacoco, Jan. 2, 1930. In the 1880 Vernon Parish, LA, census he gives his birthplace as Germany and his age as 35. Not sure if he said it or they just put it there. He could not talk plain. His story is that he was stolen, his tongue cut, he was painted black and sold as a slave. When the owner found he was not black he washed him up and set him free. But to my knowledge he did not know where he came from except "from across the big water" so he wondered from one place to another. I would really like to find more info. Anything would be appreciated.
