Found inserted in Ledger "S" of unknown Aurora area store, but clearly
predating this ledger, which covers the years 1847-1850. This is on a
separate slip of paper.

"Mr Peter Darling
To W W Jordan Dr
May 8, 1839 1 qt Pumpkin Seed--- $0.25
Oct. 28, " 1 Gilt Egd. Testament ---0.75

Due---$1.00

on reverse:

Peter Darling (undetermined symbol ) $1--

with W W Jordan
May 31st 1850

This note seems to indicate that W W Jordan was the proprietor from 1837
through 1850, and that he carried debts for a long time. It was not
unusual for store owners to have debts repaid at the time of estate
settlement. However, I am not suggesting Peter Darling died c 1850.
