Marilyn,

My guess is that you visited Veraestau on Dutch Hollow Road (the extension to Market St. in Aurora).

This URL provides a summary of the history of the place; it also has links to related web sites: http://ncph.org/Obrien/obrienHistoricVeraestauanditsResidents.htm

There appeared to be more than one residence and some other buildings. It was a private area and my friend said we couldn't linger as there were "no tresspassing signs" as we started up the hill. As I recall, the entrance to the road up the hill was in Aurora proper....not out in the country. Can anyone tell me where I was and is it a private home? Thanks.
