Hello;
I am looking for any info on the following.
William Davis b abt 1890 + or - in Va or elsewhere befor being in Dearborn Co Ind in 1812 when he married Casandra ( Keziah) French abt 1812/3 there ??
They had 2 son's Joshua b in June(?) 1812/3 and John b Dec 1813/4 there.
Joshua was bound to a Gerrard or Guard as per records in Dearborn Court in abt 1826?? It stated that Joshua was an Orphan when in essence and records he was NOT an Orphan as Mother, Casandra was living there as yet. Unkown what happened to William Davis or to the marriage of William and Casandra French.
Casandra married in abt Apr.1818 in Franklin Co, Ind (next door to Dearborn) to Moses Brannon b 1797 in Va . She used the name of Keziah Davis on the marriage cert.. They had first child a dau in 1819 there. They in 1820 did not show the 2 boys of Davis on census there. with them.
The Brannons went to Jackson Co abt 1829. later Joshua and John are both found there as marriage for a Joshua and several Johns in Jackson Co Ind.
Casandra had filled in pages of the Brannon Bible with Joshua and John Davis birth dates but no mention of one for the father William Davis. several different places. It was said that later these 2 brother's were working in some capacity on the River boats. Which and where from Ind is unk.
Unk when he entered Dearborn Co Ind or other relatives there.
I need the info on William Davis who was in Dearborn Co Ind by 1812/1813 or before and what happened to him and the 2 sons and who raised them and where.
There was a town name of Wilson or similar such name starting with a W and maybe ending with ville ?? on a piece of paper left in the bible.
This is a dead end for me so will appreiciate any info at all. on William or other Davis's families there.
I have a picture of Casandra before she died at 95 yrs of gage in Tama Co Iowa. in 1890. She has a white night cap on and very wrinkled in face and no teeth left is apparent and maybe not much hair. Maybe someone else has same picture as apears to have been a photography photo.
