The Wissell name could also be spelled Wessel, Wesel, Wislow, and Winslow. This is all because of the German translation of the original name - Wiszloh. My ggggrandfather Herman Wiszloh and his family came to Dearborn County...near the Franklin County line...in 1841 from Hanover, Germany. He came with some of his brothers, some who went ot Frankilin County. His daughters all had different spellings of their last name on their marriage certificates. I do not know of a Josephine, but she very well could have been a cousin. This family continues to provide small bits of information to me every once in awhile, but remains a bit elusive.
