There was only one HITE - HIATT - HYATT - HITT entry in the court
records book.

An inventory of the personal property of John Lefler deceased was
entered
here appraised by James Smith and Henry Githen and included two brass
candlesticks, a mantel clock, a looking glass, one lot of books, one
dozen
wool hats, two fine hats, one lot of hatter's tools, one lot of wool and
hat material, thirty four notes and accounts due the deceased, and the
usual household and farm items of that day. Also listed were accounts
for
hats made for:
William PRUITT,
J. RYAN,
Thomas THROP,
Richard CLARK,
John YORK,
Jesse HIGGINS,
Major KING,
Jacob HITE,
James ARDERY,
William HOGUE (or HAGUE),
James HALSEY,
Benjamin SNELLING,
George NOAH Jr, and
Philip WILLIAMSON.

There are five entries in the will record book under HITE and two under
