Shirley:
Well, we received a pretty good story when we learned that Andrew Nathan
(Lowry) Ribble was "shot in the lungs" and left by that farm building to
die! Not only did he live, but he got married, had a son, AND WAS KILLED BY
A BRIDGE AT THE RAILYARD!
(I have always wondered if that story was told in the Muncie Newspaper -
about Andrew's railroad accident.)
I have already ordered the Pension/Military Records from the National
Archives on each of the Lowry brothers (two were adopted by Martin and Nancy
Ribble), so please let me know if there may be other interesting stories out
there and where to look. (Since I live way up north here in Minnesota where
"summer" did not arrive until June 29th!!)
I did think of one question for the Certified Genealogist - If George
Washington (Lowry) Ribble died on January 13, 1862, at Kolorama Heights,
D.C. and was buried at "Arlington Heights", does that mean he was buried on
the site that became the "Arlington National Cemetery"?
