It's a cold one here in rural Buckinghamshire. The blackbirds are
starting to look hungry, and the frost is about to get the dahlias...

It was on 31 May 1935. You may find national and international newspaper
reports just after that date. My mother's cousin, born in 1911 was
working as a nurse there, when she was involved in the care and
treatment of the victims. She's still alive and there's no problem with
her memory, but she's not written anything about it. This may be because
she and many others performed incredible acts in the aftermath, and come
from an age when you don't talk about such things. I suspect that you
will find that there are plenty of others in the same age group who will
have personal recollections of the earthquake.
