Hello everyone.

My name is Lorraine and this is all very new to me. I have only just
begun tracing my family history and am still a novice when it comes to
the internet.

To start, I am currently researching the surnames Namey, Birt and
Dixie/Dixon/Dickson.

My first question: I am trying to locate a death certificate for my
grandmother, Gladys Muriel Namey, who died at the Shepherd
Widows Home in Bombay in 1978. She was buried at the Sewri
Cemetry in Bombay. My grandmother was born in Ireland (not
positive), birth and marriage details are unknown.

As far as I know, the home no longer exists and no records are kept
at the OIOC The OIOC suggested trying the Registrar General of
India or the Bombay Municipal Corporation. Are there e-mail
addresses for either organisation? I tried looking but got lost.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
