Dear Margaret

You asked:

Bourdillon
> Calcutta 1883" Also a report on the Punjab by Denzil Charles Jelf
Ibbetson and a reporton the census of British India taken on the 17th Feb
1881, 3 vols London 1883

Good question ..... and one I have recently asked. Have been informed by
a librarian at the State Library of Victoria (Australia) where they have a
large holding of info on British India that publications of India Censuses
from last century are only statistical reports - there are no names or
addresses ..... What a pity!
