Greetings,

Can anybody provide information on two matters:

(1) My GG grandfather was awarded a medal inscribed 2nd Co 4th
Battery Artillery Battalion at Maharaj poor on 29.12.1843. Does anybody
have information on that battalion or the campaign?

(2) My grandfather served as an engineer on the British Indian Steam
Navigation Line of Calcutta from until 1914. I have heard this line was
crewed by Anglo Indian not British officers. Does anybody have any
information as to whether this is correct?
