Hi list,


My father, John Anthony ALEXANDER, was born in Meerut, India, Nov. 20,
1934. His father, Thomas (Tim) ALEXANDER was born in Newcastle, England
NOV. 7, 1910 was in the army at that time, an enlisted man. His mother,
Stella SEXTON, was born in Bangalore, India, Sept 15, 1903. Stella was
the daughter of Major John SEXTON and Mary CAHILL. I have very little
additional information on my fathers parents or grandparents. I know
that John and Mary SEXTON died when Stella was young, I think around
1911 or so, and that she was brought up by one of her brothers.

My father joined the Royal navy at a young age, attended HMS Ganges, and
became a submariner. He left the navy in 1962 and moved to Canada. His
parents moved to Brisbane Australia after WWII.

I know that this is not much info, but resources here in Nova Scotia are
pretty scarce. We do have a FHC, but at $6 to bring in a microfilm, I
would appreciate some pointers on where to look.
