Somebody who might be able to advise you is the Archivist at Birmingham
Archives, (England) If you are interested I will send you her email.
Although chiefly Birmingham Archives hold records of the London Missionary
Society (LMS) this archivist gave me lots of help and advice regarding
tracing my ancestor Francis SNOW who was a lay Trustee for the Church at
TRAVANCORE & COCHIN , South India in 1830's. I know that the LMS also sent
Missionaries to Madagascar and Mauritius from very early on.
Unfortunately I have got no further back with my Francis SNOW except that he
married Joanna Charlotte de QUEIROS at the church in Cochin in 1830 and that
he was also employed as a translator to the Trvancore Court. Just mention
this incase anybody has any ideas on that one.
