I have a copy of the "Guide to Dalhousie, Chamba and the Inner mountains
between Simla and Kashmir" by J Hutchison L.R.C.P. & S.E (Printed at the
Civil and Military Gazette Press in Lahore in 1923) which states under the
heading Hotels:
The Bull's Head was the first hotel to be opened in Dalhousie. It is now
used chiefly as a Mess for the Officiers of the Balun Depot. In the same
compound is the Grand Viewe Hotel, recently erected, and the Springfield
Hotel is situated at the sout-western corner of Terah Hill.
My Lonely Planet India guidebook (1981 version!) mentions the Mount View
hotel, the Tourist Bungalow, the Youth Hostel, the Grand View hotel, the
Dalhousie Club, the Glory, Lall's, Mehar's, and the New Metro.
So sorry - no real help.
