Hi Listers
I have been told that my wife's g.grandfather was a soldier (rank unknown)
in the 6th Bat. The Essex Regiment in India. Did this regiment serve in
India? If yes, does anyone know where? His name was Henry MARKHAM, he
married in India (wife name not known) but at least 1 child (my wife's
grandmother) was born in Portsmouth UK but was taken to India at age 6.

Any info on the Regiment, and/ or Henry Markham appreciated.
