Subject: Voyages of the Dawsonne

The Dawsonne was an East India Company ship. Journals etc in OIOC, British
Library.
1st voyage was under Captain John RAYMOND with Richard BENFIELD as Chief
Mate. It set off via the Downs in season 1719/20, went via the Cape to
Rogues River, Cox's Island, Madras, Fort St David, St Helena and back to
Woolwich. Journal L MAR B 671 A
2nd voyage under Captain Richard BENFIELD with Francis STEWARD, Chief Mate.
1720-21. Via the Downs, Bombay, Tellicherry, Cochin, Anjenjo, St Helena and
Spithead. Journal L MAR B 671 B
3rd voyage under Captain Thomas HODSON and Chief Mate Francis STEWARD .
1725-6 via the Downs, Tuticorin, Madras, Rogues River, Balasore ? St Helena,
Woolwich. Journal L MAR B 671 C
4th voyage 1729/30 to madras and Bengal. Captain Francis STEWARD, Purser
Charles RAYMOND. Does not seem as though there is a surviving Journal but
the Ledger is in
