Yes, I have now located him - to give him his full title - Brig. Sir Edward
Oliver
Wheeler, M.C. His details are given in 'Who was Who, 1961-1970' which you
should find in the reference section of your local library. I consulted a
copy in the British Library but I'm now told its in my nearest library.

While in the B.L. I checked for any books written by him. He wrote numerous
pamphlets and articles but the only book he apparently wrote was called
'The Survey of India; During War and Early Reconstruction, 1939-1946'
By its very nature, it's rather a 'boring' book, even to a Land Surveyor but
there are photos including one of him and another of him presenting prizes.
It's not an easy book to find even in the B.L. (shelf V14617) and there
isn't a copy in the RICS. If you are not likely to visit the B.L. and are
prepared to send me your address, off list, I can send you copies of the two
photos, if of course of interest to you.
Regards
Lawrie Butler
