If you do go into google, try typing in "The Blackheath Connection" and follow the reasearch papers .....this is a site I found today which has comprehensive research covering trading with America, the Middle East , India., and Australia...from 17th century onwards..... The shipping companies history, how they were established( not what you know, but who you know!!) and also what they traded, tea, tobacco and slaves, convicts, to name a few.! Patricia.
