Hello Ray,

Many thanks for your response to my earlier posting. It's certainly coincidental that our ancestors travelled together to Madras and ended up with similar backgrounds. My GGGrandfather enlisted on June 3, 1839 at age 23 years and died at Bellary on the 7th January 1878.

I searched the India List website for details but none were listed. Thanks once again.
