Greetings Listers

Earlier this month we posted a message about the ANS and in particular our
search, on behalf of a relative, for the the records of her service. Thanks
to Valmay who supplied the email address for the OIOC we had a quick
response to our enquiry. They do have ANS personal records there, but only a
few, and regrettably not the one we are searching for.

However, a helpful Records Officer at the OIOC suggested that we try the
Army Hospital Records, DHSS Archives Registry in Sholfield Mills, Nelson,
Lancs, UK as they are said to hold extensive records of WW2 nurses. We have
written to them but in view of the distance separating us it will take a
week each way for a reply. The good news is that at least the OIOC know what
we are talking about and in fact have some records. For those who are
searching for a relative who has served in the ANS(Aloma Lively and Phyllis
Danko), and of interest to Annette and Mike Walker, an email to the OIOC at
<> would be your first stop.

We will inform the List if there is good news from the Army Hospital Records
enquiry.

Best regards

Ray & Betty
Wellington, New Zealand.
