Dear Gordon,
Harry was employed by the Royal Government of Sirmoor, which is located in
modern India Himachal Pradesh, the capital was Nahan.
Sirmoor Rifles home has been in Dehra Dun which lies in the shadow of the
Mussoorie Hills for 130 years until 18 Feb 1948. In 1815 Mr.Young first
formed the Sirmoor Battalion at the time of Nepal War. Since then thousands
of Gorkhas had set off from the town to take part in many campaigns.
Dehradun is not far away from Nahan and I was exploring any connection
between the Royal Government of Sirmoor and Sirmoor Rifles.
