Further to my recent mail about HEIC Captain Thomas NEWTE, there is a
Captain Newte whose address is given as 8 Upper Gower St, London in the
London Directory of 1799. He may be one and the same. Anybody interested
in the NEWTE family ? They may have gone to live in Tidcombe, Devon
according to LDS or this may be a different family altogether.
