Just started on researching my India link.
My mother Sheila Batty born in 1917 was brought up in Egmur Madras. I understand she lived in High Commissioner Road. Her father Hubert Batty was a salt tax collector and in 1945 was married to Helen but I can find no record of this marriage. My mother had 2 sisters Maureen and Bridget.
I am looking for the birth of my grandmother Amelia Jones who married Hubert Batty in 1917, the birth af Hubert Batty around 1888 and also George Battyalso around this time.
Any information on the Batty family in Madras prior to 1947 would be appreciated.
