For reasons unconnected with India, I visited the London Metropolitan
Archives yesterday and found that the Index to Wills and Administrations of
the Bishop's Consistory Court of London 1751-1814 contains a significant
number of references to Wills of individuals referred to as "of the
E.I.M.S." (East India Marine Service - ?) followed by the name of a ship.
Several ships names I recognized from other records as 'Indiamen' Probably
the records are also available for the years before and after the dates
above.

The index is on LMA microfilm X19/11
