Dear Arvind,
You asked about the two Henry George Keenes - they are father and son.
Briefly: the father
Henry George Keene 30 Sept 1781-1864: went to India in 1798 (Madras); commanded by Arthur Wellesley, lawyer, Persian scholar; writer, clergyman; taught at Haileybury; m. Anne Wheelwright in 1824 (aged 43); children: 3 sons, 1 daughter - all born Great Amwell, Hertford: Henry George, b. 1825; Charles, b. 1828; Alfred, b. 1829; Katharine, b. 1831; died 1901.
The son
Henry George Keene 1825-1915: Bengal civil service, writer.
1849 m. Frances (Fanny) Elisabeth Meik Moore; d. 1862
1868 m. Emilie Anne Abbott
10 children from two wives.
The younger Henry George Keene is the author of "A Servant of John Company." - and loads of other things. He was incredibly prolific on a variety of subjects (lots of mouths to feed, I guess!)
Let me know if you wanted any particular details.
Best wishes,
Sheila Keene
