I want to publically thank Jean-Louis for the tremendous service that he is
giving to all researchers of Family History in India in transcribing and
making available the indexes of birth, marriage and death in Chandernagor,
which are otherwise only available to those people who are able to visit the
Centre des Archives d'Outre Mer in Aix en Provence. As Chandernagor is so
close to Calcutta and population centres at one time occupied by the Danish
(Serampore)and Dutch (Chinsurah), it is not surprising to see among the
French names a smattering of others which are familiar to us from the India
Office Records. I expect that several current list members and future
researchers will have their "genealogical brick walls" broken as a result of
Jean-Louis's work.

Bravo Jean-Louis!

Sylvia
