Sadly not. Apart from ecclesiastical records the best bet would be
Thacker's directory which was published from the 1880s to 1947. It would
help if you knew what your man did. Army, Civil Service, Mercantile or
Agricultural. If your man wasn't an officer, civil service or a leading
merchant or owner you'll be lucky to find him. If you give more info to the
list someone may be able to help further.

web sites include:

Cathy Days' Family History in India site
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~clday/
FIBIS online databases
http://www.fibis.org
Indian cemeteries
http://www.indian-cemeteries.org

and look at the web page for this list
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~poyntz/India/

as well as many more sites. Look at the bottom of these messages for some
of them

Hope this helps

Best regards

John
