Hi Mavis,
Sarah Louise BEST was born in Ceylon in 1841, her sister Anna Emma BESTwas
born in Calcutta in about 1849. There was also another sister Hannah BEST
born between the other two but know nothing about her. The parents William
and Sarah BEST were married in Cheshire, England in 1835. My g/grandmother
(Adelaide Mitford BEST) was born in Cape Town in 1860, although stated as
the mother/father on Sarah and William's Death Notices (South African
National Archives) Sarah would have been 53 when Adelaide was born.
