Thank you all for all your help and suggestions. I have checked the SSDI
many times and in fact checked it again today, all 185 James Redmond listed.
That is why I am wondering if the Military way back in the mid-1930's when
Social Security came into effect weren't required to sign up for it. They
had their own retirement benefits. Of course, now everyone is required to
have a SS # for identification. I even checked under his wife's name and
she wasn't listed either.

I guess I'll have to try the military route again. Thank you all.
