To: Mr. Blevins' 5th grade class
From: Dorothy Vekasi,

I received your email. Mr. Blevins must be a great teacher to let you embark
on this experiment.

I live in Naples, Florida, year round. In the summer it is so hot that we
have to keep all the windows and doors closed and air condition the house.
It takes a good cold wave to reach us, but when it does, all the windows are
opened, I can hear the birds sing, we eat on our porch and we remember why we
moved to Florida.

We are just coming to the end of Hurricane season. It actually doesn't end
until the last of Novemeber, but the hurricanes become less frequent. During
August and Septemeber is the time they are most apt to form out in the
Atlantic Ocean.

My family is far flung. I have a granddaughter in Olympia, Washington and a
son at Acadia National Park in Maine. My daughter-in-law just got an email
from someone in Australia. The world has become so small that it only takes
minutes to contact someone on the other side of the globe.

I do genealogy and have many email friends. Sometimes I even find someone
who shares an ancestor with me and we can start researching together. Places
on the World Wide Web help us with finding evidence to prove someone is our
ancestor.

I hope your experiment takes your around the world.

Sincerely,

Dorothy Vekasi
