>>Hello am researching John Daugherty married to Caroline. In Ky. They

i found the family in 1870 census so have ages, figured birth years, and
birth places.
i did not have them come up in 1860 census so don't know if there were
older children than lucy born 1855.
i did find son charles in 1880 living with john longfellow and wife susanna
(susanna no doubt charles' older sister susan born 1859) and listed as
brother in law. they were in jackson twp, rush co.
interesting to note his birth place indiana, fathers (john's) ireland,
mothers indiana
i realize in 1870 caroline was listed as born ky, but remember someone not
totally familiar may have given the info in 1880
also found in 1880 julia living with elijah and maggie longfellow in
portland twp, jay co, indiana
julia was listed as "foster daughter" and age fits with age in 1870, born
ind, father born ind (see above note),mother born ind.(see above note)
a charles treadway age 19 was also with them and listed as step son.
ellen in 1880 apparently was with nathan and eliza warrick in center twp,
rush co. and listed as servant.
she born indiana, father ireland, mother ky.
you may have all of this.
i did not find jackson, the only jackson daughterty's that came back were
named andrew jackson daugherty. you might consider that his name was
indeed andrew jackson and he was known by jackson.
did not find lucy but she no doubt married so different surname in 1880.
assume you know that doherty is perhaps a variation spelling to use if john
did come from ireland?
and never over look using google to do genealogy searches, i've found some
great stuff there.
