It is possible there is a Merriwether book in the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library. There is a new book out called Galena Gleanings that is published by the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society in New Albany, IN. Their address is PO Box 665, New Albany, IN 47151-0665. If you will contact them they may be willing to do a look-up of the obituaries or tell you how you can obtain "Galena Gleanings". I recall a lot of Meriwethers being mentioned in it.

Some Merriwether/Merriwether/Merriweather's mentioned; in "Galena Gleanings": Brown Merriweather, Charles, David, Elmer, Emily, Esther, Harriet, Ina, James, John, Joserph, Lucinda, Mary , Minnie and others.

I think there is a Merriweather Genealogy book in the library also. check the card file at the New Albany library:
