Hello, I just heard back from my husbands Aunt last night about additional information concerning The Stephan Davis connection. She says a cousin has confirmed the connection of our Hugh to Stephan. She is sending me the information she has received. I am never quite sure of the quality of information intill I receive it. A family book was put together in 2002 but, was riddled with errors. The Hugh Davis family reunion was in Sep't. and hopefully the errors and the new information will be corrected and re-issued. We do have a-lot of information concerning Hugh's family. They ended up in Ks., Mo., Ok.
We have our Hugh married to a Sara Huffman (parents: Joseph and Henrietta H (McClelland) & Joseph's Father being William Huffman of Monongahela Co. VA). The family moved (along with Sarah"s parents and the families of her brother and sister) to Crawford Co. Kansa around 1867. We have their children listed as: Mary Eglantine, Arthur Cliffield, Joseph Arbanner, Mina R., Stephen, Charles Dee, and Sarah (Sadie). Hugh's wife Sarah died and Hugh moved to Barton Co., MO. and Marrried Mary Jane Tongett they moved back to KS., and had 3 additional children Hugh Tinsley, Shirl and Lizzie. Around 1890 the family moved to the Cherokee Nation in Indian Territory (now OK). where 2 more children was born: Martha and Harley. I have not verified any of the information except for some census information.
I will let you know when I recieve the additional information, I do hope this connection can be proved. Please let me know if any of the above names came be found in any of the letter you have. I am wiilling to share any information I have.
