I have the maps for every township in Fountain County showing where the first landowners lived. I kept looking for DILL and couldn't find any. I was at the library today and had a few minutes to look thru the court records books. Samuel must have used the spelling of Dihel, because I have the map showing what land he owned which was in Richland Township. I looked for any others who spelled their name as Dihel. I found a Nancy Dihel who married Joseph Ogden on June 28, 1834, & William F. Dihel who married Sarah Longmire on May 25, 1846. For the marriage record for Delilah DILL, it said she married John Heastland or sometimes spelled HEASTON. The other thing i found was that Leonard Royal was the administrator for the estate of Samuel Dihel. It gave the date as Aug.24, 1840. That could be the death date for Samuel. I will look thru the cemetery records again and look for the spelling of Dihel.
Would you like me to scan the Richland Township map and send it to your email address?
