b. about May____(Day), 1870 ... Per 1870 Census in _________________(City/County), IN....per Census' ....Check Death Cert and/or obit.
d. 7-20-1901 in Jackson Twp., Fountain County, IN.....Per Indiana Deaths, 1882-1920:
buried: ___________________(Cemetery Name) in _________________(City/County/State).....I found a Ben McELWEE on the Fountain County, IN Main Cemetery Index. I believe this to be him however the year of birth is different. If it is him then he is buried with his brother John Allen McELWEE...possibly his brother. ....Check Death Cert and/or obit.
Parents: Mathew or Matthew and Mary PARKS McElwee
Married: _______________________(Spouses Full Birthname) on _________________(Full Date) in _________________(City/County/State).....I didn't find a marriage in Indiana. However, I found a marriage for a Benjamin McELWEE to Ida SWAYNEE 7-28-1894 in Champaign County, IL. I'm leaning towards this being him because his brother David was living in Champaign County, IL also......Obtain a copy of his death certificate and/or obit and see if Ida is listed as his spouse.
If he was married to her then obtain copy of marriage license/application from Champaign County, IL as it may tell where he was born also.

NOTE: I believe the Richard in the 1870 and the Benjamin R. in the 1880 Census are one in the same. I believe the census taker inadvertenly wrote down Richards age as 3/12 vs. 3 yr and ?/12. I am more certain of this as the mother is noted in the 1900 census has having had 9 children born.

NOTE: I believe the age for Richard was writen in error. I believe it should of been 3 ?/12. I think Richard and Benjamin R. are one in the same.
