I had a dayoff today and decided to see what I could find for you this
afternoon.

I stopped at the library in Brookville and checked death and cemetery
listings. There was no composite listing for St. Mary's of the Rock
like all of the others.

In the death records I only found, Mary Brown, 90, died 10-25-1907 in
New Trenton/Whitewater Township...Charles Goodwin, died 1-12-1896 in
Brookville Township...and Rachel Goodwin, died 1-1-1902 in Brookville
Township. There were no Benge.

In the cemetery listings for the smaller cemeteries in the
county...Catherine, Eleanor, J.R., Samuel, Sue A., Thomas, and W.R.
Goodwin were all listed for the old Brookville Cemetery. Mary A. Brown
is listed in the Old Big Cedar Cemetery....Sarah E. BRown in the
Franklin Cemetery and William W. Brown in the Wesley cemetery.

I went out to St. Mary's and took a look at the cemeteries. The main
church cemetery is pretty good sized and didn't see anything familiar
but there are alot of old stones. An older/smaller cemetery across the
street only contains the names of Osborn and Harvey.

I wondered if St Mary's church was actually catholic. My family that is
buried there was lutheran and I am beginning to wonder if the church was
under several denominations over the years. The address for the church
is 17442 St. Mary's Road, Brookville, Indiana, 47012. At least that was
the address on the church mailbox. Hopefully the post office,
Brookville is correct. It could be Oldenburg also. There was a car at
the church but could not find anyone around. I will try to look around
to see if I can get an exact address for the church for you.

Not much, but will try again...
