Surname: Maker, Richey
-------------------------
Nobles. Ledger: Jan 31, 1879 Fri; Pg 4:
Peace E. Maker, one of our early settlers died at his home, Monday night
last, after an illness of about a week with lung fever. Mr Maker was a
native of Onondagua County, New York, where he was born Nov 25, 1801 and
would have been 79 years old Nov. next. He first came to Hamilton County
from Brookville, In in 1829, but returned to his former home where he resided
until May, 1832, when he came back to Hamilton County and entered the 80
acre farm which he owned at the time of his death, southwest of Noblesville.
He was then a widower, and in Feb (1833) was married to Rebecca Richey,
now his widow. For 47 years he had been a resident of this county, assisting
by the severest industry and economy in building up the county to its present
commanding position among the counties of the State.
