Message Board Post:

Death notice of Marvin R. Armstrong, CICERO GAZETTE, Thursday, February 10, 1876, p. 2:

"We learn that preacher Armstrong of Deming is dead. Another great and good man gone to rest."

Mt.Pleasant (Pettijohn) Cemetery listings:

Marvin Armstrong d. February 2, 1876 at age 61y 7m 11d

There are no other Armstrong listings in this cemetery.

THE PEOPLE'S GUIDE, Cline & McHaffie, 1874, p. 197:

"Armstrong, M. R.; Justice of Peace; Deming. Born in N. Y. 1814; settled in H. C. 1856 Rep. Methodist."

Notice of Administration for the estate of Myra E. Armstrong, REPUBLICAN-LEDGER, Friday, March 3. 1882, p. 8:

" Administrator's Sale
Notice is hereby given that I will sell at public auction at the late residence of Myra E. Armstrong in the town of Deming, on the 24th day of March, 1882, all the personal property of the deceased consisting of household and kitchen furniture and other articles; also, a library of theological works and other books. Sale to commence at 10 o'clock, a. m. Amos Carson, Administrator."

Myra is not listed in the WPA INDEX TO DEATH RECORDS FOR HAMILTON COUNTY.

I did not find an obituary for Myra only this notice which was also printed on March 10, 1882 in the same paper.

I know this is not much information for you but I hope it helps. For further information, please contact the Indiana Room at the Hamilton East Public Library at <>
