I checked the Crownland Cemetery listings for W. E. Hardy and found that he was buried there on April 25, 1906. He is in Section 3, Lot 6, GS 4. Civil War notes say: Sgt. Co. I, 6th Regt. and Cpl. Co. D, 75th Regt.

I found a notice in the newspaper announcing his death and burial plans. HAMILTON COUNTY LEDGER, Tuesday April 24, 1906, p. 2:

"W. E. Hardy Dead"

"Thursday Sam Craig received a telegram announcing the death of W. E. Hardy at Leavenworth, Wash. The remains will be brought here for burial, but it will take about five days to reach this city from the far Northwest. Mr. Hardy formerly lived here and was engaged in newspaper work. He married a daughter of 'Uncle Dan' Loehr. Mrs. Hardy was buried here last October."

Reading about his wife, I checked the Crownland listings for a Mary Hardy who died in October 1905. I found the following listing:

Buried on October 23, 1905, is Mary L. Hardy in Section 3, Lot 6, GS 3. I searched the newspaper for a notice about her death and burial but did not find one. She is not listed in the WPA INDEX TO DEATH RECORDS FOR HAMILTON COUNTY.

I hope this helps in your research.

Nancy
