Hi Jan, Thanks for responding. Old Ben (as my cousin and I call him) lived to be 107and was born in NC, according to our records. His father's name may have been Joseph. He married Elizabeth Dollins, in Harrison Co. in 1842. We believe he fought in the war of 1812. Most of the information I have relates to his marriage to Elizabeth. Their son Enoch was my ggrandfather. I have dates of births and deaths for most of his children from both marriages and the newspaper obit for his son, Charles, who was a civil war veteran and lived to the age of nearly 91. Ben died in Spencer County and I believe he is buried in Kay's Chapel Cemetary, at Paoli, near Fredericksburg. I visited Kay's Chapel last May but didn't know at the time he was buried there so did not seek his grave. I will be happy to share what info you are interested in. For the record, some other surnames with Moore connections are Doan, Miller, Ollis, Voyles and Marshall. Betty
